Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association Seeking Deputy Director
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Deputy Director’s responsibilities can be grouped into three major roles: partnership development, program development, and fund development and marketing. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working in a progressive community development and mission-driven organization.
Responsibilities

  • Supervises the staff on a day to day basis and develops new funding sources through grant writing and organizing events.
  • Serves as Executive Director back up in times of vacation or sickness.
  • Serves as the Program Manager to help manage, organize, and coordinate all activities and make sure that all reports are properly completed.
  • Secures and evaluates additional resources to support the CMAA Programs including grant writing, fund raising, and fee for service contracting. Manage fee-for-service processes including proposal development, marketing, and project completion.
  • Represents CMAA on selected task forces and committees to promote the mission of the organization.
  • Works with Executive Director to promote the CMAA Program via radio, television, community workshop, and participate in community events.
  • Reviews and analyzes agency operations to evaluate the performance of the agency and to identify areas of potential program modifications and improvements.
  • Develops the future leaders of the Cambodian community through the Young Professional program by partnering these youth with successful members/leaders of the Cambodian community.

Qualifications

  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak in Khmer is highly preferable.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented with excellence in multitasking to coordinate multiple events, contract, publications, and reporting schedules.
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit finance, human resources, resource development, community organizing, and neighborhood planning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including attorneys, politicians, impacted communities, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations; of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership techniques; of accounting, budgeting and financial principles; and of the principles and practices of public administration and management.
  • Strong and demonstrated interest in civil liberties and social justice issues; familiarity with immigrants’ rights preferred.
  • Strong skills in excel, power point, Word, internet use, keyboarding and writing
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 4years’ experience with community development, grant writing, fund raising, and nonprofit management including supervisory experience. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Classification: Exempt, Full Time, Permanent
    Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience
    Starting Date: Immediate
