DCF/DHCD Information Meeting on Home Visiting Program 10/1/09

Many thanks to Liz Curtis for this invitation:

On behalf of Undersecretary Tina Brooks and Commissioner Angelo McClain, I am pleased to invite you to a presentation on a new Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and Department of Children and Families (DCF) initative to serve families that are homeless.  DHCD DCF are collaborating to provide Health and Safety Assessments (HAS) for families who are seeking emergency shelter because they are currently in an overcrowded living situation or living in a units that presents an unsafe or unsanitary condition.

DCF is in the unique position to perform these health and safety assessments because its core mission is the care and protection of children. The purpose of the assessments is to provide verification of a significant risk to a child or children that warrant an immediate shelter placement.   DCF will also be in a position to offer additional services and financial assistance to eligible families.

The meeting will be held on October 1st at 10:00 a.m. at 100 Cambridge Street, 2nd Floor, Conference Room B.   Please RSVP to Jo-Ann Moriarty
