World AIDS Day in Lowell – Consider Yourself Invited!

This year’s World AIDS Day event will begin at the December 1st Lowell City council meeting. Susan Dargan-Hart, Director of Homelessness and HIV Prevention Programs for the Institute of Health and Recovery will address the Council on Homelessness and HIV/AIDS; and the need for safe affordable housing in our city.

Mayor Caulfield will then read a “City of Lowell World AIDS Day” proclamation to attendees and public officials.

Event participants will then gather outside of City Hall where a candle light vigil will take place prior to a procession down Merrimack Street to Kearney Square.

The event will end at Middlesex Community College where there will be an award ceremony and a showing of an AIDS Quilt provided by the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers.
