The Institute for Health and Recovery is seeking a Project Coordinator for the Family Recovery Project. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall project management of this federal project, including reporting of data and accomplishments to ACF, coordinating communication among the
Family Recovery Collaborative and Regional Council, Department of Public Health/Bureau of Substance Abuse Services, Department of Children and Families, and Brandeis University evaluators. The Project
Coordinator is supervised by/reports to Kim Bishop-Stevens, Department of Children and Families, for the project, with administrative support by IHR. This position is part-time (20 hours) and is based in the Holyoke/Springfield, MA area.
Major Responsibilities:
• Understanding of substance use treatment and child welfare
• Coordinates contract management responsibilities including compliance with performance standards,
achievement of service goals and objectives, and adhering to time lines
• Convenes and chairs regular meetings of the Regional Council and staff sub-committees as needed,
including distributing minutes and notes to members
• Distributes relevant information to communities regarding services and data
• Facilitates technical assistance to community-based agencies as required regarding program
implementation and evidence based practices
• Reviews and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data in collaboration with evaluator in order to assess
project effectiveness and make recommendations for the development and/or improvement of project
design/implementation
• Coordinates the development of project reports, annual application for funds
• Supervises the activities of the systems’ collaboration part of the project including systems’
implementation and evaluation
• Collaborates with DPH-BSAS Regional Manager and DCF Regional Substance Abuse Coordinator on systems development
• Responds to external requests for information
• Facilitates sharing of best practices among communities
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in related field
• At least 4 years of full-time experience in public administration and/or social work/counseling, with at
least 1 year in a supervisory capacity
• Experience in family-focused substance abuse treatment and child welfare
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Experience working on a federally funded grant program preferable
• Experience with program management, administration, and coordination
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills
• Strong ability to work in a team and foster collaboration
• Valid MA driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle
