Asian Task Force Seeeking Education & Outreach Coordinator

Job Title: Lowell Education and Outreach Coordinator, Part-Time
Division/Department: Education & Outreach
Reports to: Acting Department Coordinator
Summary
This position will be based out of ATASK’s Lowell Asian Initiative Against Domestic Violence, which is located in
Lowell, MA.

The Lowell Education and Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for networking and building collaborative partnerships with the community and its service providers, which includes but is not limited to
the Lowell Police Department, Lowell Community Health Center and Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association.  S/he will be in charge of the Cambodian outreach and providing Toolbox trainings and educational workshops as well as participate in general outreach activities on behalf of Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence.

Duties and Responsibilities
§ Identify community resources to address domestic violence in the Cambodian community, including but not limited to: outreach to Lowell Police Department, community agencies, identifying key
leaders in the community, and planning community initiatives.

§ Conduct regularly scheduled cultural competency and domestic violence trainings for the service
providers including the Lowell Police Department
§ Provide community-based education to Lowell’s Cambodian community and connect ATASK services to community members

§ Outreach to Lowell and Greater Lowell communities

§ Create and maintain relationships with Lowell program funders

§ Create and maintain relationships with program partners, faith leaders and community leaders

§ Provide outreach to youth programs, schools, parents, and local service providers for the TDV Program

§ Compile reports and collect data for teen dating violence workshops

Qualifications:
§ Fluency in Khmer or other Southeast Asian languages preferred

§ Knowledge of Cambodian language/culture and the Lowell, Greater Lowell community
§ Work experience with community organizing and coordination

§ Strong public speaking/workshop facilitation skill

§ Excellent computer, oral and written communication skills

§ Ability to initiate, lead, and work independently as well as being a team player

§ Capacity to work respectfully in a multi-cultural environment

§ Ability to perform multiple tasks and work at a flexible schedule

§ Valid driver’s license/vehicle insurance and reliable transportation preferred
§ The ideal candidate should have an appreciation for diversity and for women’s issues specific to immigrant and refugee communities
