Asian Task Force Seeking Youth Empowerment Program Assistant

Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) Program Assistant, Temporary (May 31 – August 31)
Under the direction of the Acting Department Coordinator and working closely with the Youth Education Coordinator, the
YEP Program Assistant will be responsible for providing support and facilitation to the Youth Empowerment Project, a
program with a goal to empower Asian American youth in the Greater Boston area to become voices of anti-violence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and facilitate Youth Empowerment Project youth group with Youth Education Coordinator
· Attend 42-hour mandatory domestic violence training in the month of June
· Pre/post program planning
· Update curricula and activities for YEP
· Maintain a line of communication between youth and ATASK staff
· Provide outreach to youth programs, schools, parents, and local service providers about YEP
· Ensure that the YEP youth group follows ATASK policies and procedure
· Identify resources for leadership development according to youth needs
· Identify culturally competency community and social service resources for youth
· Respond to emergency calls from youth
· Assist with the planning and implementation of the Education and Outreach departmental strategic goals
· Compile reports and collect data for YEP
· Create evaluation tools for YEP
· Refer youth to appropriate social services as necessary
· Commitment to the mission of Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence.
· Experience with youth in educational settings.
· Proven experience with public speaking essential.
· Excellent computer, oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to initiate, lead, and work independently as well as being a team player.
· Capacity to work respectfully in a multicultural environment.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Experience working with Asian communities preferred.
· Bi-lingual/ bi-cultural in an Asian language preferred.
