In attendance: Patricia Bergin (Comfort Home Care) , Melissa Glassman (Eliot CHS), Linda Comeau (YWCA of Greater Lawrence), Kristin Ross-Sitcawich (CTI), Peter Cirioni (DOE), Charlie Manzi (Comfort Home Care), Troix Bettencourt (IHR), Connie Murphy (CAI).
- Network Update from Partners –
Eliot CHS – Windsor House undergoing renovations and there are available rental units at Windsor House currently.
CTI – Discussed implementation and progress of Home Base across the Merrimack Valley. Also discussed future plans to provide eviction prevention and subsidized housing search workshops in Lawrence and Haverhill.
YWCA of Greater Lawrence – Reporting an increase in the number of clients with severe mental health challenges, particularly young adults aging out of transitional housing programs.
Community Action Inc – Reporting that their EFSP/FEMA allocation has been exhausted. Currently working with Haverhill Salvation Army to access funds raised by the Haverhill Gazette
Institute for Health & Recovery – Reporting that Project HEAL is in the midst of recertification and that a new HOPWA grant had been released in the City of Lowell.
Department of Education – Reporting that they are moving McKinney funds into school districts, performing site inspections with a focus on supplemental education programming and school supplies for homeless school age children. Also reporting an 8% increase in the number of homeless school age children across the Commonwealth from FY10 to FY11.
Discussion postponed as neither HomeBase program was in attendance
ICHH RFP – Reporting that ICHH has opted not to issue an RFP due to state funding constraints. Discussion around how we strategize to keep the Merrimack Valley Network engaged.
