Client Services Coordinator needed to join the Client and Housing Services division and oversee all activities of the Client Services/Advocacy program, supervising staff to include Social Service Advocates, Homeless Services Case Manager, Intake Coordinator, Mortgage and Rental Assistance Coordinator, Project Achievement staff, and AGO Borrower Recovery Case Manager. Full-time, Exempt, 35 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Instruct, supervise and provide training and support to front desk personnel in regard to professional procedures for contact with clients and for referrals to agency staff and outside agencies.

Coordinate with Housing Services Coordinator to enhance the provision of supportive services for Action’s homeless clients; oversee Project Achievement.

Develop strategies for improving participation of homeless clients in Action programs and other benefit programs such as food stamps and Mass Health.

Work with agency staff to assure a coordinated approach to service delivery.

Convene regularly scheduled meetings with appropriate staff to develop strategies for meeting contract obligations, finding grant opportunities and to review progress of each service component.

Research, investigate and implement HMIS client tracking system to assure adequate data collection and ability to prepare SHP APR report on timely basis and to prepare CSBG Progress Reports for the Client Services program.

Assure all required grant reports for relevant grants are accurately prepared and submitted on a timely basis.

Locate and/or develop resources to help meet the needs of low-income clients. This includes locating potential grant funds and leading in preparation of proposals.

Set up and maintain a schedule for services to Ipswich and Rockport clients.

Meet with Director of Client and Housing Services on regular basis to keep management informed about important activities and issues.


BS degree in Human Services or related field, Masters preferred.

Minimum three years experience in non-profit organization.

Excellent interpersonal and management skills.

Ability to communicate at all level of the agency.

Excellent computer skills.

College and Career Readiness Advisor needed for Adult Education program, to provide staff development and student informational sessions focusing on the college transition process, meet with ABE students and organize college visits. 6-7 hours per week.


Bachelors Degree in education.

Experience teaching and working with adult students.

Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to relate to and work with students with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Administrative Assistant needed for Adult Education program, to provide assistance including data entry on student attendance, intake, staff support, payroll reporting, and updating program. 6-7 hours per week.


Excellent organization skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Seasonal Intake Specialist needed for the Fuel Assistance program. Position will be available October through February, 16-20 weeks, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Meet with clients to gather household member information re: identification, address verification, and income documentation.

Follow up with clients to ensure accuracy and completeness of application for fuel assistance.

Data entry and other related program tasks.

Attend and participate in departmental, organization-wide and other meetings.

Act in the best interest of the organization, reflecting the values of team work, collaboration and mutual respect.

Intake Specialist needed to provide program information to clients via telephone and onsite, and provide administrative support to the administration department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Answer and direct calls to the appropriate staff member.

Answer program inquiries via telephone and onsite.

Assist clients with access to services; make referrals to the appropriate program staff.

Complete application for services via telephone when clients call in for services, refer clients to the appropriate program staff.

Schedule appointments for Client and Housing Services staff.

Oversee the master calendar for in-house meetings (for example: reserve the conference room, order meals, set up equipment).

Provides administrative support as needed.

Miscellaneous typing, faxing, filing, photocopying as needed.

Other duties as assigned.


A.S. degree, B.S. in human services preferred.

Minimum 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in social services.

Excellent oral and written communication skills; friendly, welcoming personality.

Ability to handle urgent situations and clients in crisis.

Must possess a sense of urgency and be client focused in a fast paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to multi-task.

Bi-lingual English/Spanish or English/Portuguese a plus.

Housing First Case Manager needed to join the Client and Housing Services program and provide support and assistance to homeless clients in order to find them permanent housing. Position is part-time, may lead to full-time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

■ Conduct client interviews and perform assessments of homeless clients, make collateral contacts, and consult with other providers (i.e., mental health, primary care, etc.).

■ Assess client needs and seek consultation as well as determine the resources required to ensure comprehensive service delivery.

■ Evaluate clients’ capacity to make independent living decisions; assess risks to clients and other tenants at the housing site(s). Assist in finding appropriate housing.

■ Develop and modify individual client service plans to assess ongoing needs for clinical, supportive services and housing needs.

■ Maintain regular contact with clients who are admitted to a program.

■ Assess clients for their safety and well being; recognize and respond to signs and symptoms of changes in client behavior, physical health or related medical issues or other related areas of concern.

■ Identify, coordinate and advocate for appropriate support services and resources for each client. Provide services linkages to services and resources as needed.

■ Work cooperatively with landlords where clients are residing.

■ Maintain accurate case records, enter and update information on clients served, in internal databases, in a timely fashion, meeting all mandatory deadlines.

■ Maintain a thorough knowledge of local public and private resources including mental health and substance abuse services; housing, residential programs, and other community service organizations.

■ Maintain effective working relationships with community-based agencies that provide support to the homeless.

■ Maintain client confidentiality.

■ Ensure consumers are free from neglect and abuse and ensure their safety and well being. Report all concerns/suspicions to your supervisor.


■ BS degree in Human Services or related field.

■ Minimum 2 years experience working with homeless clients.

■ Proficient in computer skills.

■ Excellent customer service/interpersonal skills.

■ Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

■ Ability to work with clients in crisis and those actively engaging in substance abuse.

■ Ability to practice effective de-escalation techniques and take reasonable precautions to ensure personal safety.

■ Second language a plus.
